Illini V-Ball 2018

Ranked #6.  Could be #4 after beating #9Nebraska, while #5Pitt and #4PennSt lost Saturday.  They are very good and are getting better.  Their defensive specialists are young while their hitters and blockers are experienced.  The setter may be best in nation.  Half of the top 10 is from the Big w #3Minnesota leading the pack.  BYU is #1

They're really good again this year.  #2 RPI behind Stanford.

We did jump to #4 and still #2 in RPI. Quade is a fantastic hitter.  Bastionelli (sp) is all time Big10 Block leader and Poulter is one of the best setters in America.  Their defensive players are young and improving, but still room to get even better. Our other hitters are good and we have plenty of depth as well.

Your Illini v-ball team did what they needed to do this weekend by posting 2 relatively easy victories at Ohio St and Maryland.  These were 'trap' games after their big win at Nebraska.  They return home I believe to face Rutgers and then a big game against Penn St this week.

What a weekend for the #2/4 ranked Illini vball team.  They swept Rutgers Friday nite and squeeked out a 5 setter against #7 Penn State tonite.  They will go on the road for 3 games against teams they have swept at home earlier.  Then will return home to face Purdue which was ranked top 20 earlier.  They are sitting good for a top 4 seed in the tourney.  Don't be surprised if Jordan Poulter ends up 1st team all american
