about 2011? I think the class will make a much bigger impact than the 2010 will because it won't be a transitional class.  Also, the in state talent in 2011 is pretty good all around.  Couple with star potential but overall we're looking at a hefty crop of 4 stars and highly rated 3-stars.

Good to hear.  Hopefully success of the new coaching staff will lead to better results in the recruiting ranks.

I'm for Coe but we really need to re-establish our instate recruiting.  2010 wasn't very kind to us.

The thing about the 2011 class in IL is... it's well rounded.  But I see us pulling a bunch of players out of Florida again.  I'm trying to get in touch with a few that ive heard have Illini interest to see what's up

How do you anticipate this success coming after a 3-9 season this past year?  A lot of kids either commit or narrow their list of schools before the start of the season which does not bode well for us.  You can't play the "program potential" card in year 6.

Yeah but what you do is get those kids to wait, and if your program shows significant improvement, then some will wait for signing day (which anymore kids basically do... as much as they change commitments they should anyway).  One way or another the classes will get better... This coaching staff isn't like any we've had in recent years.  Sure it will take time but I think you underestimate just how nuts Petrino really is....

Sure... "you get kids to wait."  Why in the world would a kid "wait" to see if Illinois shows improvement when they can go somewhere stable like an Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan State, etc.?  We're getting killed on that stuff.
