I bet we hear some news before THT's visit.
Yeah I think we do as well.  Ayo and family now have all the data points in so it shouldn't take long to decide.

I still really do think that Ayo coming has a pretty strong chance of convincing THT to come along. Both are competitors who want to win and know that together they can win championships.

I boils down to one thing to me.

You never replace a reliever with a starter on a post season roster and not start him!

It?s just that simple.

Lackey should have been run out there in a throw away game (away and against Kershaw) in game one to see if somehow he could catch lightning in a bottle.  Every other player has been taxed and is worn out mentally.  They just wrapped a tough tough series with Lackey sitting and watching.

You put his noodle arm out there and let him take the 5-0 loss that they got wasting Q and taxing the pen.  You set yourself up to be deeper the next 2-3 games if you do that.

It?s called ?taking one for the team!?

Huge mistake by Maddon.  More than any other reason, it will be why the Cubs lose the series by getting swept or possibly winning only one game.

Replace a seasoned reliever, even if he wasn?t going to be depended on, with a starter who gives up more runs in the first inning than any other inning he pitches all year long, is like expecting to stop a hurricane that has already made landfall!

Just organizationally, that move or lack there of set the Cubs back a season in game 170 or whatever number it is right now.

Oh, and the guy that tried to say U of I is a top 20 university and wf is ~300. Idiocy. Both are great schools. Most ranking put WF a bit higher or lower, but never ~300.
LOL I didn't read that..  Some people are fools.  As we all know, school rankings can be complete BS but if anyone thinks that Wake or the U of I aren't both great schools then they need to pass the ductchie on the left hand side. :P
both great schools, and we do tend to have the heft of research and the like. It just kills me to not look at things objectively enough.

It's not that: Madden has to be the smartest guy in the room at all times. It's tiresome

Here is one thing:
We always think the national writers have it in for us and that they don't know how good we are. Look back at the threads like this each and every year. Thing is? They are right a lot more than we are. Hope they are wrong here.
yeah and I don't think national writers have it in for us. Some of these guys are douches without a doubt but I don't think there are really many who actually have a grudge with us. Dakich rips on us because it is an attempt to listeners on his radio show.

The reason I think they might be wrong this year is that we really do have some special circumstances that are probably not readily apparent on the more national level.  Based on what we lost, basically Malcolm, that is a lot of productivity...but I do believe we have people who are going to fill that void and more....but that is why we play the games. I am still more excited about our team than I have been in at least 10 years.
