Pretty much sums up where we are at.  We can all point fingers as to why, but fact is, we don't have a strong program right now.  Nothing close to it.  This could all change with the right hire...we could all be in much different moods at this time next year.....with the same record at this point....if the arrow is pointing upwards..instead of the obvious downwards it is this year.  It would be nice to see the young recruits play their way into competitive bball and show us our program has a bright future.  We haven't gotten that opportunity for a few years...to see a bright future.  It's been frustrating but who knows what will happen when we go a new direction...we all have to hope things get remarkably better.

Klee kills me sometimes, he titles the article with Culture and then doesn't discuss culture...he discusses toughness.

I loved this quote from Meyers because I have been saying it for two years:

Quote
"It has to do with the players, nothing with the coaches," suggested Meyers Leonard, who had a game-high 21 points. "I wouldn't say it's effort. We all care."

While there have been times when they haven't given full effort, it is always about executing.

I understand what you're saying Iman..obviously the players execution has a ton to do with any team's performance...but that ultimately lies with the coach...especially when he recruited these guys, he trains these guys, he tries to make better leaders out of these guys.  This is an epic fail this year...and blaming the players seems a little short-sighted in any college program where the coach has been in place this long.   :confuzed:

IMan...That has been our Culture!!!  Toughness and great defense is what we thrived on...That part of our culture is gone.  These players have given up in my opinion.

of course it is ultimately the coaches responsibility...but all he can do is put the players in position to succeed and he did that ....sure we can question his substitution pattern but at the end of the day these are talented D1 players who have to make shots and defend.

Meyers in his quote shows he gets that.......

so yes weber takes the ultimate blame and is going to be gone......

they certainly aren't getting it done, that is for sure.   I would be playing the starters 10 minutes a game and let the young kids play now....we are completely out of it and now it is time for the young guys to get minutes.

Depends on your definition of success......we made the tourney last year and hung tough with a top 5 team in the country.     JR spazzed out and it really hurts us by not having him available in that game.

Yep, BW just forgot how to coach........players play, coaches coach.        Go ahead and ignore all the issues we had over those 6 years and act like that didn't have any impact.      Jamar, Carlwell, Gordon (kept us from getting etwaun moore), Stan Simpson flunking out, Legion being terrible, JR deciding weed and not attending school was his number one priority, Crandall Head not getting it done and quitting..................yes the coach is ultimately responsible, but the dude got dealt a pretty bad hand.
