I'm thinking MT is putting his job on the line if the Football and Basketball programs do not get any better in the next 2 years.  I think people will be calling for his head!

realistically he'll get 5, that is pretty much the standard for an AD

Wouldn't that be ironic and some bad karma for MT to come in and become Weber.  People wanting him gone soon after he starts lol.... I agree Phil they will give him 5 or more but I think the fans will start to worry.  We want results now while the talent is there.

It's not going to happen in year 4 or 5 because at this rate the recruiting will be at an all time low.  I am assuming that we will start over with the 2013 class.  I hope everything turns out great though it should be an exciting off season hopefully it gets here soon!
On paper, I can always convince myself that the talent is there to contend among college basketball's elite, even if it's obviously foolish to expect it.

Thomas is playing the basketball situation ingeniously. Getting rid of Weber now won't salvage the season and with every additional loss, the amount of cash that boosters are willing to contribute to oust Weber just keeps climbing. By the end of the season he will have covered the buyout and the first 3 years of the new coach's contract.  ;)

Mike Thomas....good luck!

You've inherited Illinois Basketball in the darkest hour since the early 1990's when the program was hit with NCAA sanctions.  Saturday's loss to Nebraska was horrible.

Unfortunately...you've inherited a fan base that thinks they're big time...in the like's of UCLA and Kentucky!

I cannot express how disappointed I was in the team's performance on Saturday.  I looked forward to watching how the team would respond to Coach Weber's media comments earlier in the week, but they're were clearly not ready for the challenge.

I want the best for Illinois Basketball....I want Illinois in the NCAA tournament every year, in the sweet sixteen, competing for the Final Four, and WINNING the National Championship.

The Big Ten and the college basketball market wants Illinois to be successful.  My question is...who is better than Bruce Weber to lead the program?  This is an argumentative question, but I'm sticking behind Coach Weber to fix the problem.  After your hire of Beckman, I am already questioning your ability to lead!
So you at the Conseco Fieldhouse in March!
Thankyou! Amen!
Unfortunately losing is a hard habit to break.
