What would Smart's buyout be?  Sorry... I thought it was 1.4.  But what's a cool $200K between friends???

I'm totally serious about grabbing the number 1 bench guy from any one of the elite schools.

you guys do realize Smart recently signed an 8 year deal at VCU and makes about 1.4 a year, right???

I saw you take the #1 son off the bench of Duke, UNC, UCONN, KY or Kansas... I don't care which school.  Those programs aren't good just because of the main man at the helm... they have good staffs around them.  Pick one of those dudes whose ready to step up and step out.

Two words....Quinn Snyder

I am on the smart bandwagon

Smarts buyout is $800k for a school hiring him.  Also there is a stipulation about starting a home and home series with VCU for the school that hires him.  Or the new school can buyout that for another 250k.

I would think a $2mil salary with incentives for more would get him to move.  Its going to be a steep price to pay all in all.  But he is a 34 year old coach on the rise.

I noticed that OSU has former Dukie Paulus on their bench. Maybe the new coach will reach out to some former Illini Like Dee, Sergio, Roger, etc? Dee especially seems like he would be a great recruiter.

probably a mil I'd guess, but its gonna be high for anyone except an assistant

I certainly dont want anyone off kentucky or Uconn staff, they are both dirty as hell its just a matter of time until whoever it is gets implicated in something.

I asked this question in another thread earlier, I dont know any up and coming assistants you could plug into a high D1 job with no experience. To me the AD would be out on a huge limb. We shall see

hahahaha troy just saw your snyder post good call

No in 10 seasons between Seton Hall and Scum he had 2 winning records in Conference play.  And those were both 10-6.

I would definitely consider Amaker. He probably was not ready for UM and competing for recruits with Izzo the 1st time around. Also the guy at Stanford. Sorry, I am terrible with names. Former Dukie I'm almost positive.
