CotG- Joe Bertrand.  He showed extended range today and did a nice job defensively and on the boards.  Leonard
looked good as well.  DJ looked like he was sick and BP just looked like he was tired.  Abrams looked OK but was
outplayed by their pg (isnt he a freshman as well) and Sam, well Im hoping he finds his game because we need him
to play 10 min of good bb.  Ohh... and the bench- they sat there without fainting or anything... A+.
Bert was solid, but short armed a  wide open 13 footer late in the game that would have cut the margin to 1 with about 1 1/2 minutes to play, then missed a contested layup at 21 seconds that would have closed the gap again.  He also fouled out and gave up 20 points to Hearn.  Sorry, not the CotG.

Very disappointed. BW continues to not utilize his bench, then wonders why players don't produce? I would like to see a zone defense so the illini could get easy buckets in transition, and use SM, NE, MH, TG with one of our starting guards to keep those legs fresh. In the last 5mins how many layups did we give them?

Don't know over how many minutes, but it was 9 layups in 15 possessions according to Loren Tate's count (heard that on WDWS Monday morning QB) and they scored on 16 of their last 20 possessions according to the statisticians/managers on the UI bench. That will get you beat every time unless you are scoring every possession, too.

And you'd prob give it to Leonard who was the one guarding Hearn when he made all his points.

I agree on Bert..he missed a huge shot and it was wide open late in the game...a shot he usually makes.  Plus his D wasn't great by any means.
ML was having to guard much smaller, quicker guys in the 1st half so he was exposed..it's tough for him to get drawn outside as they want him underneath to alter shots.
Chief of the game should probably go to TA for his 8 assists.  He had a couple of bad turnovers, but he pretty much did more than what anyone would have expected him to do.
IDK...tough to pick a chief in a game like that.
Horrible loss...just pathetic on our home court...

mmm TA has made assists before and was outplayed by Sobelinsky.  He didnt play badly on D, but so many mistakes.
ML should be able to guard smaller guys, they just shouldnt be able to guard him- hes touted as a top 10 draft pick.
He looked slow under the basket as well as on the perimeter.

Joe Bertrand hit 2 3pt shots, which Im not so sure he has made any before this, but he did remark on the defense the last 2
games defending him so he couldnt drive.  It looks like he did something about it.  I thought he played the best defense on
the team yesterday.  Everyone misses shots.  To me, a missed shot at the end of the game is worth the same as in the
beginning- 2 pts.

Sethy D hits the nail on the head today fellas-

? I can't imagine how frustrating it is to be an Illinois fan these days. How do you beat Michigan State and lose to Northwestern in the same week? Most inconsistent team I've seen in years.

I am getting dizzy from the season long roller coaster ride, when can I get off this ride?  Weirdest season I have ever seen.
