Choke job. Ml needs a sports shrink

Let it rip

Sorry but I don't qualify this as a choke.  Illini did everything right down the stretch.  Made FT's got layups on offense.  Minny took a terrible 3 that they made , didn't foul for 25 seconds, and got a borderline foul call.

The only choke was possibly the Williams tip dunk, and letting Hollins get in the lane that easy.
Sorry but fouling on a layup when u are up 3 counts as a choke.

So the decision of a ref to blow a whistle or not decides a choke?

Look it was a close foul or not.  It was called everyone thinks yeah it probably was.  They don't call, everyone says probably not you have to earn it at the end refs won't decide it.

You either back away and give the 2 pts up
or you foul and make sure he doesn't get the shot off. Basketball 101
he was trying to back up and the guy ran into him.........

Come on everybody. Let's drag this thing out to 12 pages about how every little thing that went wrong is BW's fault!

I have the ultimate faith that you guys can do it!!

I'm going to bed, I expect to see at least 14 pages by morning, and then let's continue it all the way until Tuesday!! :icon_biggrin:

They at least started the game very well out of the gate.  I thought the first half turned when ML got his shot blocked.  He finishes that its a 9 point game early.  Instead its minny ball they get the crowd into it.  Hit a 3 after the break and grab the momentum.

Also how about a  for the officials 51 total foul calls.  They blew goats both ways and any contact at all seemed to be a foul.  Not your typical B1G called game.

could only follow by gametracker, but for cryin' out loud you CAN'T give the refs a chance to call a foul on a layup when you are up 3 with under 10 secs to go. Give up the 2, get it in bounds, hit your FTs and defend the 3. walk away with a win. It was Dj's fault for letting the guy into the lane.....meyers had no time to react and just stayed straigh up in front of the guy...he initiated no contact

Poor start to the OT. dug too big a hole. was over as soon as leonard fouled out.

Many chances to win. Too many TOs (Paul with 6), too many fouls, too many missed FTs, 3-21 on 3s (Paul 1-8, DJ 1-6, Sam 0-3)   same old, same old it would seem.

Seems to be split opinion on the Leonard foul. I have to go with a maybe on that since I didn't see it. Disappointing to lose one that way nonetheless.

Not just fouls, but quite a few traveling. I would replay the action and I couldn't see the travels. Then I started noticing all the traveling that they didn't call. But Minny won because of its second unit. They came in with a lot of energy and our first unit was already dragging. We missed almost all the 3's and half the free throws.

It was close.  If its called people agree, if its not called people agree it wasn't a foul.  But the way the game was being called any contact in the lane was a foul.

I think they Choked and had some help from a bad call....all coaches do it different....First of all i dont think Sam should have been in the game on Defense...he was guarding Hollins....I think Egwu did a better job on Williams than Bertrand but end of game decisions are killing this team....Sam has the know how but he cant do it on the court...The team needs to play like its the end of the game all game

ya our shooting was horrid.....but they matched our poor free throw shooting most of the night.......ugly game with only two people playing well at alll...
