Stepping back
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:31:25 PM »
Sorry but this is a personal post. The moderators can erase this thread if they want to.

I've had problems before with the ineptitude of Illinois' athletic department. I'm a huge tennis fan and have followed the tennis team for years. Every year I have had to rely on other schools' websites to get the schedule for games and the results. Other schools put Illinois to absolute shame in the way they handle their sports teams for the fans.  Illinois has been completely inept and slow in doing their job. I have sent emails asking for the schedule and have pointed out the fact that they are behind EVERY opponent that we usually have each year. I was told to mind my own business and that they would put it out when they were ready.

I have taken down my tennis site and I think I will step back from Illini sports for a bit. When I cool down, I might come back. That might be tomorrow, that might be never.

It's sad because we have such a great school but a really llusy sports department.

Out.

If it's any consolation, Illinois does an all around poor job of marketing themselves from both an athletic and academic perspective.   Our experience at Illinois when my oldest son was making campus visits was by far the worst on-campus experience of all the universities we visited (which included: Illinois, OSU, Purdue, Miami, Butler, Vanderbilt, Dayton, Ohio U, W. Kentucky, and a few other smaller schools on the athletic side).  Illinois just seemed to not care.   It was weird.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14
