And I was going to give it to Tracy Abrams  :icon_biggrin:

Brandon Paul may have had the best performance ever in an Illini uniform. I actually remember Dave Downey's 53 point game. OSU didn't lose this game, the Illini beat.

2 things: The refs let the kids play and the Illini did not stand around. They were using their athleticism and hustled all game long. OSU had about 18 more shots than the Illini, so just great shooting and efficiency. Who needs  a PF or a PG?

Karma to EVERYONE who predicted an Illini win - by whatever margin. I was not a believer. We had a chance to fold early in the 2nd half, but came back and made plays - all night long.

I dont think there were many  :icon_biggrin:

either way this is a HUGE WIN....HUGE!!

Rushing the court

I said the same thing.

(Graduated in 2005.  Clearly, we never considered rushing the court.  Should be below Illinois basketball).

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW all i can say is....BP3 he went the heck off....I love the energy that the team had......the offense did look much better at times and still had a few WTF moments....At first i questioned Weber's time out with only 4 seconds left on the shot clock LOL but it worked out....Very good team effort---and the funny thing is i think they can play better....I do believe i called this win......

Just a fun fun game to watch.  Win or lose it felt good to be an Illini fan in this game finally.

Said this during the chat.  But was this the aha moment game for the kids figuring the motion out?  Hard to say for sure when a dude goes off for 43.
Any Illini gamers out there add me to your friends list.

I'm OK with rushing the court in a game like that.  We don't have dumb fans like many other programs and we know what's right vs. wrong.  Like Hawk said, they've beaten our ass for so long it justifies the rush.  Plus beating #5, BPIII 43 points, and Myers Leonard dominating Sullinger....HELL Yeah rush the court!  Go Illini!!!!

Bruce made a great call on that play, Abrams had the ball about 21 feet from the hoop with a 6' 7 guy on him it may have saved the game for us.

I agree Misterp.  We looked athletic enough to compete with anyone tonight, and also played hard.  Just really have to get rid of the elementary turnovers, especially the ones that lead to run outs cuz we can't expect Paul or anyone to shoot that well on any sort of a consistent basis.

Yeah I am not sure either, BUT we are getting better at feeding the post.

We now have three really good scoring options BP, ML and JB.

Lots of good minutes for TA.  Some more for Myke Henry.   He will keep improving.  Griff played little, but did contribute and Egwu got a couple minutes.

We are growing.

I was at the game in which Illini fans tore down the goal post (at Northwestern), so rushing the court doesn't bother me a bit.
