Head shot a airball from the wing shortly after coming in and was pulled immediatley. Jb had a turnover (the one where he was hit in the mouth) and was pulled.

If you think Head and JB were playing better than Paul or Sam your wrong.  While I agree Bruce needs to loosen up the leash a little those guys didn't do anything right.  Paul shooting 2-12 was still better than anyone else on the bench.

IMO this team goes as Sam goes if he plays well and scores more than 10 we will win most of those games.  He has fallen off since the Zags game and the rest of the guys have fallen with him.  A Weber team is only as good as it's PG due to the lack of set plays for specific players.  Thats the way it has always been and always will be.

On paper, I can always convince myself that the talent is there to contend among college basketball's elite, even if it's obviously foolish to expect it.

I felt ill after watching that abortion of a basketball game yesterday  :puke3:

1) Many of our players are not cut for half court offense.  In this regard, they are fortunate to play for Weber, who will demand they learn this essential career skill to play overseas.  But man - the learning curve is painful to watch

2) Brandon Paul, my favorite player, is a compulsive gambler. I hope he never visits Las Vegas, as he will lose his shirt.  The rush of the 3 dropping down the net is his narcotic high - he needs some bench time to rethink things

3) I think playing on the Bulls logoed court caused a number of guys to crack ... they all aspire to play NBA ball, all wanted to impress friends/family/Chicago.  Even Leonard fell to the spell of that arena ... shooting 1 of 6 FT's

AND FOR THE COACHING STAFF: Not sure why you couldn't get the guys to drive when UNLV got into early foul trouble in the 2nd half.  Also - the rims were clearly tight - so why did the 3s keep bombing away in the 2nd half?  UNLV's bomber sat grounded on the 3-point runway all day ... our guys just let it fly and fly again, why?

Tight rims are the biggest BS excuse for poor shooting. If you aren't hitting the damn rims they don't make a difference. If you have to rely on soft rims to hit shots you aren't shooting well - end of story!

How about we never play at that arena ever ever again. I'm sick of that crappy airlines company and now I'm sick of watching the Illini humiliate themselves annually in that place.

Of course the problems the Illini have are much much deeper than that. Maybe they'll surprise us and beat Missouri. I would be very very surprised though.

Don't hate Tebow cause the media is shoving him down our throats..he's a nice kid...doesn't seem to have a negative word to say about anyone.  The sports world could use more quality people like him.  I'm not a broncos fan but like to see a guy that has some morals instead of all the negative news we have to hear about these other guys.

Good post Chief.

On the Illini game today....  SSDD.   This will never change until a change is made.   Ok, now start attacking me for being "negative" and anti-Weber.   I don't really care. I've seen this crap style of play for too long and I am sick of reading guys blame the players.
Yep Weber plays shitty defense....Snacks can't shoot........Wayne turns the ball over too much.........Price can't rebound......these coaches suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarcasm off.

Yes they need to teach these kids how to throw an entry pass....and if these kids can't figure out the motion, run a simple triangle & pic/roll that every kid in america grew up playing.

Broken record bro.  All I hear year after year is the same excuses.  As I said last year: "there is only ONE common ingredient in our perennial mediocrity."   It's Weber.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

Weber will never "Feed the Post".  It's just not his style.  He is going to continue to have our kids out there chucking three's all year.  Get used to it.  :Wallbash:

This game is in the past.  New game tonight - let's focus on the Cornell Big Red.
