Bulls want Howard now

Rumor of Billups even too now....

I don't know whats going on, but this team better make some personnel decisions soon, its a short camp and the team needs to get some practice time down before the season starts, and right now they cant do that very well with a cloud of trades and signings hanging over the team...either get in or get out, make a decision, season starts in 14 days!

and i like how this article talks like Howard wouldn't come here, yet in a previous interview when he was asked, he said the Bulls were one of a handful of teams he would go to....so not sure where they are getting the info that he wouldn't come here, because he said himself months ago that he would.

Gar has to make this happen.  Really the only reasonable deal that will allow the Bulls to enter that top echelon of teams that puts them as a legit perennial contender.  Id say amnesty Boozer if you can swing a deal for Dwight and sign Billups and Hinrich (has Hinrich been amnestied?).

BW..unfortunately I have to agree...I was not happy with the new CBA, when the NBA failed to set a hard salary cap they basically gave into the 'Super Team' movement...teams like NY, LA, Miami have no problem going over the salary cap to form these types of teams, and the Bulls with Rose and role players are not going to be able to beat those teams no matter what, just too much star power to overcome....so basically you are either IN, or you are out of that movement, and if you are out you might as well just concede!  Noah is a nice player, but hes not Dwight Howard, Boozer is nice role player, Deng is nice role player, the rest of the team are just average role players...The Bulls could offer 2 picks, 1 being the Charlotte pick which could be a huge pick for Orlando...they could offer Noah, who would be familiar with that area and some of the fans and he's a top center in this league too, they could offer Deng also in taking back Turk from Orlando, these contracts are almost identical yet Deng is a much better player then Turk.

there are only 2 things to stop such a deal, the way I see it....either A. Howard says he absolutely wont come here and sign, or B. the Bulls don't offer it.....I don't see A taking place becasue he already stated previously that he would come here, so really the only way it doesn't happen is if the Bulls don't offer it ...as of now the rumors are LA is only offering Bynum, Nets are only offering Lopez, Orlando needs to dump Turk in this deal, supposedly they want Gasol and Bynum if he goes to LA, and the Lakers wont do that deal supposedly..the Nets are not changing their offer, and quite frankly they don't have anything else TO offer but Lopez and a pick.

If we get Howard and Hedo, do we part with Noah Luol and draft picks?

I would think almost certainly..possibly Asik or Taj too...would have some spots to fill for sure, but would have Rose, Howard and Boozer as 3 of starters, then assuming RIP signs that would be 4, would just need starting SF, or SG if RIP moved to SF instead of SG.

Everyone loves the Bulls bench depth, but I think its a little overrated.  Overall they are all decent players but I don't think any of them provide a specific asset to the team (besides Korver and 3's).  Therefore I'd say take the chance on doing whatever you can to get a trio of Rose, Howard and Rip.  Getting rid of Boozer would allow for them to build a great bench.  I don't think Howard and Boozer would coexist very well, even though Boozer can hit 15 foot jumpers.  Taj and Howard would be an incredible combo, on both sides of the floor.  I know its hard to admit mistakes, but amnestying Boozer could do wonders for the roster.  That should only happen if they swing the deal for Howard though.

Like I said earlier, 2 of Hinrich Billups and Rip would be great guard depth.  Have Korver as the 3 point specialist.  Hedo at 3 could be decent if he accepts his role (unlikely though).  Taj and Howard at the 4 and 5.  Oh and did I mention the reigning MVP at point guard?

I honestly believe Taj and Howard would be the best front court in the NBA.  Only because Taj would defer to Howard, while also providing that 15 foot jumper from the elbows.  Opens up the high low a bit too.  Defensively, you can't really attack the guy in foul trouble, since both could D up the oppositions best low post threat equally effectively...

Rose is supposed to be one of Howard?s best friends in the NBA. The two have filmed commercials and gone on promotional tours together for Adidas.

But when Howard talked trade this weekend, he asked to go to the Nets.

I think Rose needs to get off his ass and start recruiting, this not being vocal might just be hurting his chances of bettering his team, let Howard know you want him here Derrick or you might be playing with Boozer and Noah for the next 5 years

The Bulls will explore trading for Howard, thinking that Rose and Howard should be a championship-contending combination for the next decade.

A logical offer would be Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, first-round picks and another player. If the Bulls included one of Omer Asik, Taj Gibson or Ronnie Brewer, they would be able to take back both Howard and Turkoglu, who make a combined $28.4 million.

If such a trade were to come to fruition, the Bulls? theoretic starting lineup could include Rose, Howard, Turkoglu, Hamilton and Carlos Boozer.

Forman mentioned several times Sunday that he likes the current nucleus of players. But the Bulls won't sit idle when a player of Howard's caliber is available.

"Our feeling has always been, we're not going to make a move just to make a move," Forman said. "If we don't feel it's a plus for this team, we'll bring this team back as is and feel really good about our group of guys."

why do I get the feeling this last part really means, 'if it puts us over the cap, we wont do it'  :confuzed:

Because Gar fears the luxury tax like the plague...if only he would reason that if we brought in Howard, the sale of his jerseys alone would pay for the luxury tax

Does that mean Orlando is willing to get the help Howard wants? If so, then

If not, then they will go round and round until Howard finally leaves.
