Chicago State post game/Chief of the game thread!!
« on: November 27, 2011, 01:56:12 PM »
The Illini got out to a big lead and never looked back. Not much to learn from this game but it was nice to see us put someone away. My COG goes to Henry, the kid just knows how to score.

THE GOOD
* The bench got some clock
* Team played solid defense
* Tyler had a solid game
* DJ is the man

The BAD
* Still too many jump shots
* BP still MIA

With that being said ............. LET IT RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went with Leonard.  The dunk was enough for me.  :thumbup:

Still would like to see more penetration.

I went with DJ. He played steady when he was in on both O & D. Could also have gone with ML or MH. when Weber went with the second team they still kept it up. Freshmen got plenty of PT. I enjoyed the second half when we had 4 freshmen and a sophomore playing together. Ibby got some good minutes and showed what he can do. Did anyone see what the flagrant foul was called for?
Still crazy

Almost everyone played well against a very weak opponent - but we pounded them like we should have. Frosh kept running O and getting good shots instead of just jacking 3s. Didn't give up a field goal for last 10 minutes, so frosh can play D as well. The real tests are still to come, but this was encouraging.

Missed the game.  Went out to lunch.

Wow, what a blowout, and lots of freshman minutes and scoring.  Great to see TA get a bunch of minutes.  Myke Henry with a big game.  Egwu too, and Shaw the leading rebounder.

6 assists and 2 TO's from some guy named Crandall Head.   :icon_biggrin:    TA with 5 assists and 2 tunovers.  DJ with 5 assists and 1 TO.  Hard to read too much into that due to competition level, but still good to see.

We are 6-0 through the first 6.  Not always pretty, but they are on track for where a young team should be.  We really need Egwu, TA, Shaw and one or two of the wings (BP, Bert, Crandal and Henry) be ready to contribute when the conference season rolls around.  If that happens we will be competitive.  Is it time for Bruce to bring Brandon off of the bench and start Bert?
