ISU post/Chief of the game thread!!

Soooo what do we do a half time?? Eat snacks? Take a nap? Contemplate the problems of the world? What ever we do I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with making adjustments! Even though he threw the ball away in the final seconds and missed the front end of a 1 and 1 Sam gets my COG. Jumper in the lane, 3 ft's and the cold blooded 3.

The BAD
 
* Griffey and Shaw ineffective at the 4 slot tonight which lead to BW going big (ML and NE) and small (SM, JB, BP, DJ and ML) with his line ups.   
* Team takes way too many 3's. Notice how we got back into the game when we got to the paint?
* This team can't feed the post at all. If we go to ML down low, Carmicheal fouls out early.
* BP still taking too many jump shots.
* DJ needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end.
* Leaving wing open for wide open 3 on back to back trips 

The GOOD

* Sam was clutch down the stretch. Loved the cold blooded 3 with 52 seconds left.
* JB gave us some quality mintes at the 4
* We didn't fold and clawed out a tough win.
* We shot pretty well from the line again as a team.

With that being said ................ LET IT RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The refs blew this one with the foul against BP end. They initially called it a intentional foul but forgot about it when they were checking the time left on the clock.

Good to see them grind it out at least.  Feels like the kind of game Illini would have lost the last couple of years.

I almost was going to say no CotG for me until Sam's late offense.  But what was with the give-away under their basket!!!

Time to get home and get back to practice.

And, I think we went to Senor Frog's at half...

I could only listen to the game on WJBC (streaning down here in Texas), I gave my  vote to Nannana, because the anoucers were griping about him all night about him mugging their players, so I thought he must have had a good game.

NE had a bad game. He was getting beat off the dribble and wasn't effective at all.

This team has a long long way to.go. glad we won for sure..not happy with our crappy offense and similar to last year jumpshooting frenzy...get the ball to ml and make them adjust and we blow them out of the gym..we beat these guys barely while the teams we've need to beat later are playing ranked teams...not sure we can get there this year. Isu isn't a topnotch movalley team. We gotta get it in gear!!

It puzzles me how DJ fades away in the 2nd half. He was scoring from deep, mid range and created his own shot in the 1st half but he just went poof in the 2nd.
