I had a tennis tournament with my students all day yesterday so I was only able to keep up with the very slow updates on my mobile but it looks like the Illini performed pretty much as we all expected. From Firehawk's post, it looks like they have A LOT to work on but I'm just glad they have this game won and under their belt. I'm sure they are going to have some growing pain losses though. Just no psycho head-scratching losses like last year's UIC please.

And I sure would like to know what's keeping Leonard out of the starting lineup.

he was late for a practice or meeting

?The thing I?m most happy about is how hard we played,?? said coach Bruce Weber, who pulled Leonard from the starting lineup when he was late for shoot-around. ?Meyers was a force inside. He really reacted in a very mature positive way. He?s been so good for 10 days, I hated to not start him. But if I allow him to do that, what happens next week if four guys show up late??

If 4 guys show up late we don't have the great attitude and work ethic everyone has been talking about for months.

was he late the last 3 games?  ....he didn't start any of the exhibition games either, Eqwu did...not sure if that's a coincidence or if Klee doesn't have the whole story

I have Bruce's quote one post above where he confirms this was the case (unless he's just blowing smoke which is entirely possible)
Bite it Big Ten, here come the MIGHTY ILLINI

Starters for exhibition games are always determined by wins in practice.  Meyers will be starting the rest of the year...provided he can make it to meetings on time.
