Great all-around game tonight by Abrams (he was our leading rebounder), but I voted for Leonard.  Meyers was a beast at both ends of the floor (and even tossed in a 3-pointer).

I voted for Abrams, but great all around games for Leonard, Abrams and Grif except a few shots late, also impressed with Egwu. Paul looks streaky as hell still and not sure I want DJ to shoot  :icon_biggrin:

overall a plus, we saw guys get minutes for a change, I hope it continues so this team is ready to make a move in february or march.

I still feel anyone who thinks this team is a 3 seed in the tourney is delusional though  :tounge:  we are going to win some, and lose some we should win until everyone gets some experience. But the arrow is pointing up and I am SO glad hoops is back

Leonard has the ability to be great he is so good at blocking shots it's unreal!  There were some lapses where they showed their youth but overall it was a good game and many of the players looked good.  Once Head returns and coach figures out the balance of his rotation we will upset some people.  I liked the use of both Egwu and Leonard in the game even though it was based on foul trouble from Griff and Shaw.  The rotation is nice to see I think most of the rotation haters will be happy.

1-0 baby!
On paper, I can always convince myself that the talent is there to contend among college basketball's elite, even if it's obviously foolish to expect it.

Didnt watch the game but 1 thing jumped out when I looked at the box score:

Only 9 assists on 28 baskets made? Yikes. Hopefully that goes up big time as the season progresses.

Other than that, nice win. Hard to gauge anything from these types of games based on competition.

couldnt watch the game obviously, thanks to the BTN....not sure If I should comment, but looking at the box score, Id have to say.... U.G.L.Y

understand I realize that some of these guys had good numbers in some other categories, however...

DJ ?? 1-7 from 3...really?? and he only took 1 other shot that wasn't a 3??

Abrams 1 assist? ...he is playing the Point right?

Whats with Leonard not starting? and 2 rebounds?..he hasn't started the last few games ...I have to ask is he in the doghouse for something we have not heard about yet?

Bertrand has to produce more then 2 points and 2 rebounds in 17 minutes of play

How does Shaw only log 14 minutes in a game where the highest rebounder on the team was our Point guard?

I seriously hope this was first game jitters...  :gulp:

I agree ....our 6'1 point guard cant lead the team in rebounds...I said something a month or so back about DJ becoming more than just a jump shooter...the team as a whole shot to many 3's .......21 i think...i know its the first game but it seems like same crazy play but just different players........even though a few things are different.....more steals than assists wow   .......rebounding again is a issue...Meyers has to get 10 or more a game...Free throws i think 5-9 .....Tyler 10 shots 5 were 3's he made 4 shots and not 1 free throw attempt ....I to hope this was first game jitters...

I noticed that teams that go deeper into the NCAA"S rebound at a high rate...40 or more a game
