Bulls offseason

I swear every point Boozer scores he gives up 2 .....Trade Boozer for a legit high quality wing scorer if you can, and then start Taj next year at PF
He definitely struggles to finish.  The only way you can deal him for a good 2 guard is to take back a similar contract.  Who do you have in mind?

Not sure, dont know who is out there or who could be available, but one thing I do know is that Boozer on defense is a joke, and I don't think him and Noah play well together...Taj plays great defense and could develop into a 15 & 10 guy if he got starter minutes...This team obviously need another player that can create their own shot and play decent defense on the wing, ....if the league does not install a hard cap, the Bulls must do their best to try and match the Miami 3 or possibly risk being eastern conference finalists for the next 5 years...right now its not looking good...if we dont find a way to win game 4, this series might be over in 5 games

Sign and trade with Boston. Boozer for Ray Allen and a pick. Ray is a FA next year so this might intrigue themt o resign him to trade him to get a play like Boozer so they can move Garnett to center. Yeah I'm reaching here.

I like the idea of Allen for a year, but not trading Boozer for a guy for one year though

Yeah they would need to sweeten the deal with a pick or something.

How about Stephen Jackson  might be able to get him out of Charlotte for a minimal fee.

Would Blazers be willing to part with Roy? he's a major injury case though, would be rolling the dice for the Bulls, but Blazers need front line help, Oden was a bust, Camby is done there.

Kevin Martin...another injury case, guy cant seem to stay healthy but when he is, he's lights out...Yao is all but done, Houston has to be looking to rebuild.

Maybe unrealistic trade, but what about Monta Ellis, GS could use some front line help...Boozer for Ellis? Lee goes back to Center like he played in NY...they move Boozer to PF, Reggie Williams move to full time SG, he got the job done when Ellis was injured, and they have Curry at the point, I think it makes them more rounded instead of guard heavy.

Obviously I have no clue if any of these teams would  even want Boozer, but in an ideal world I think Bulls starting lineup looks much better with any of the following options...Jackson you probbaly could get without dumping Boozer though

Rose
Jackson
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Rose
Roy/Martin/Ellis
Deng
Taj
Noah

I would really explore getting Jackson from the Bobcats. if you could somehow find a way to insert him in the SG role and not give up Boozer, that would be ideal, I think he brings intensity and shooting to that position, oh, and attitude.

IMO Stephen Jackson doesnt put you over the edge. Miami is the real deal and in order to compete with them, Rose needs a legit SG star (who can create on his own) or Dwight Howard. Kevin Martin or Monta Ellis could possibly do it...you may lose some on the defensive end but I think Thibs coaches those guys up enough to get them clicking in team defense.

I have heard alot of chatter about Deng-Noah for Howard. Getting Howard would be enormous for the Bulls but you lose A LOT by taking Deng out of that SF spot. Not sure who you can find to replace him...plus I dont think Howard goes anywhere in the East by trade. Unless the Bulls could somehow swing it where they get Howard and a guy like Jason Richardson...who can play the 3 in the Bulls offense...its gonna be a tough sell.

My guess is the Bulls dont make a huge trade, they keep with their core, and try to find a trade avenue in the draft - like they have done fore years. The SG from Providence who is a projected mid 1st is very intriguing....he is a lengthy, tall SG that has range and is a good scorer.

I dont know what they can do really.....I dont think drafting anybody in this draft benefits the team.  its going to have to come by trade or FA signing.

I dont think Howard will get traded till the end of whatever season is next, and then it will depend on Orlandos thinking and what the new CBA looks like, if it has a hard cap, which it should, it could make things difficult ...Orlando wont want to lose him for nothing though, that's for sure

Deng and Noah, you do it in a heartbeat...dont think it happens though...since Howard plays C, you couldn't have both him and Noah anyway, so its basically Deng for Howard....While he had a good season, Deng is very replaceable, and his contract is a killer

Some good FA options out there and with the Bulls having 2 first round picks and some good pieces off the bench, they have the tools to pull off a trade. Need to do something to get Rose one more scoring piece. They arent far from being in the Finals so thats promising.

I'm not so sure anymore....I don't have much faith in Boozer on this team , I thought he was a super disappointment in the playoffs  :confuzed:

A deal I've drawn up in my head is something along the lines of Boozer, and like Asik, as well as two 1st rounders this year, and next years 1st rounder for Dwight and Hedo (good player, terrible contract IIRC).  But then again, I'm fully aware the Magic probably want nothing to do with Boozer.  If they're dumb enough (I mean they have to want something for Dwight, instead of letting him walk away, word to Cleveland) I think this would be a great move for the Bulls.

I think the Magic are going to get some really nice offers for Howard...Portland, LA, Houston, etc...are teams that can offer more than Boozer at this point. If we want Howard, we'll have to give up Deng and Noah with picks. I wouldnt mind Hedo though as a guy to balance the floor and to replace Deng.

I agree and I hope alot of it had to do with his toe. I dont think a grade 3 turf toe injury heals with 3 days rest. So it still was bothering him I am sure. However I dont think going into next year with him as your 2nd or 3rd scoring option is going to cut it...upgrading to a SG that can score and create is huge. Keep in mind this team still won 62 games last year and was in the conference Finals. Yes they are still steps behind Miami but a big piece was missing at SG.
