Let me expand a little.  I expect anywhere from 19-21 wins, with a few bad losses.  I expect growing pains for the team, but hope they gel towards the middle of the conference schedule.  I think they will finish 6 in the conference and will be a bubble team.

Ok, that is a lot different than the crowd that keeps saying we will win 15-18 games and be on the bubble or most likely not make the dance at all. For the most part, the same people that were saying this SR class was not that talented and that's why we didn't win a lot of games this year. Now, before season even ended, those same people were telling us that next years team would not good either, for entirely different reasons. If that is not you or anyone else, then all I can say is....if the shoe fits.

I support Weber (or any coach) too....as long progress is being made, but I'm not going to sugar coat it and pretend he is the greatest thing to ever put on an orange blazer and lead the Illini. The results over the last 4-5 years do not bear that out.

Just look at all the crap that is RUMORED (I know that nothing is proven)  to be going on in the locker room between players, coaches / coaches and players. Does not bring a lot of confidence that he has the situation in complete control.

Then we can go back look to Tracey Webster, who was recruiting for another team while working for ILL. How does that happen?

Guys, I think as a fanbase most people aren't overly excited because our program hasn't been setting the world on fire and the two recruiting classes that were so highly rated haven't exactly been awesome while at Illinois so far.  This incoming class has many good kids, but they're not topp 10 or even top 50 kids, so to assume they'll transform the program right off the bat would be unwise.  I think most of these incoming kids will have a huge impact, I'm just not too sure they are of the talent and maturity to do it as true freshman.

Illinois is one of the few teams 'that consider themselves an elite program' that would have the distinction of graduating 4 seniors from a team that could barely make the tourney.  Losing 4 starters who did 60% of the scoring and we have people saying we are going to be much better next year?  I know it's all relative to other schools, but few teams are graduating the amount of offense we are.

I think A LOT of schools graduate this much offense, its about being able to reload and be competitive again right away. The fact that 60% of our offense came for the seniors was a sympton of the problem not something we should be proud of. I dont think most people would argue the most talented players on our team were seniors this season. So the ability and talent to make up for that offense is clearly there...its about putting it together.

Your all wrong: We will be near the top of the B10 next year :cheering: and will have 22-24 V's :cheering: before the Dance. Might have a few hic-ups early :veryannoyed:, but I have a great feeling about next year with or with out JR.  :ponder:I can see a wide open fight for PT, and maybe only BP & DJ a early lock for starters.  I somehow believe Musson know a lot more than he is telling and I don't have a clue as to his source of information.   :logo: and I hate kool aid :icon_biggrin:

Is Weber's contract through 2014-15?

Anyone?
this is correct...but as I've said, with a new AD which is likely....and this new president, I'll bet any of you money BW doesn't stay for that length of time unless BIG things happen in the next year.

and somebody writes a BIG check to the school to pay for it too........

I would think someone would have to step in when he would have 3 more years on his contract...what I was told was the likely scenario was for RG to be reassigned so there could be a new AD hired...then the president and AD would put all coaches that haven't been successful enough for the expectations of the particular teams, would be on a one year probation to get it in gear.  Who knows if this will all come to pass, but I'd bet money RG won't be the athletic director come this fall.  Who knows what happens after that.
