Let me expand a little. I expect anywhere from 19-21 wins, with a few bad losses. I expect growing pains for the team, but hope they gel towards the middle of the conference schedule. I think they will finish 6 in the conference and will be a bubble team.
Ok, that is a lot different than the crowd that keeps saying we will win 15-18 games and be on the bubble or most likely not make the dance at all. For the most part, the same people that were saying this SR class was not that talented and that's why we didn't win a lot of games this year. Now, before season even ended, those same people were telling us that next years team would not good either, for entirely different reasons. If that is not you or anyone else, then all I can say is....if the shoe fits.
I support Weber (or any coach) too....as long progress is being made, but I'm not going to sugar coat it and pretend he is the greatest thing to ever put on an orange blazer and lead the Illini. The results over the last 4-5 years do not bear that out.
Just look at all the crap that is RUMORED (I know that nothing is proven) to be going on in the locker room between players, coaches / coaches and players. Does not bring a lot of confidence that he has the situation in complete control.
Then we can go back look to Tracey Webster, who was recruiting for another team while working for ILL. How does that happen?
