This thread seemed to work out well last year, so why not start it again.

I just started watching the game right now. Can anyone tell me how Marty Turco has looked?

Turco getting peppered by shots nonstop. Pretty poor defense by the Hawks. 3-1 Colorado, should be 5 or 6 to 1

I was afraid they wouldnt play good defense without Campbell. well they just made it 3-2 so lets hope they can come back and win this one.

Sloppy. Too many turnovers in the neutral zone. And we had a 5 minute stretch where we took 3 penalties, which led to 2 goals. Gotta clean it up a bit

Turco has looked fine.

5 out of the last 6 Stanley Cup winners lost their first game the following year. This Saturday is just what the team needs....a game against Detroit and the ring ceremony to re-energize them.

BTW I like Jack Skille alot...I think he needs a chance to play with the 1st 2 lines.

I thought the team looked sloppy last night....first games usually are though.  once again this team struggles though with Campbell out of the lineup....you can say what you want about his contract, but it's just not a coincidence that we have trouble when he's not in the lineup.

Leddy  made some rookie mistakes, one that cost us a goal hopefully that doesn't effect his game.  Really the Hawks were Lucky to come out with a point last night.

I thought Kane and Toews looked rusty, and the team overall was not physical.....I was impressed with Bickle and Skille, they seemed to be the only guys that were willing to hit last night....and I already dont like Scott, he's not very mobile, he's slow, and we're only 1 game into the season and he took a bad penalty that resulted in us giving up a goal.  gotta clean it up!

Campbell is big for the Hawks without a doubt. He does a great job of carrying the puck....look at what he did for us when he came back at the end of alst year.

I thought Kane and Toews played well. Kane looked good with the puck, Toews wasnt the same guy with the puck behind the net...although he did have a nice little stop and go that made me get up.

Scott = Sopel 2.0

I just thought they didn't look good cycling the puck like they normally do.

agreed....I wouldn't mind seeing Leddy up here the whole year even when Campbell comes back, and then only playing Scott in games we think are going to be more physical and grinding.

I was just happy to get a point given the sloppy play last night.  Honestly, it's the way I look at most road games... get a point and get out of there.  Home is where I expect to win on a consistent basis.  If you can get a point on the road more times than not and win at home on a consistent basis, you're a playoff team and probably a higher seed.  That's what the Hawks need to do this year and hopefully stay injury free!  :beg:
