Illini Lacrosse Upset #10 Florida

It happened last week while they were playing down in Florida over Spring Break.  The team is now 5-1 to start the year.  The only loss was to #8 Florida State.

Its a club team, but if you like lacrosse, try to get to a few of the home games in April.  I played for my 4 years there and I wish we could have had more fans.  Its hard because Campus Rec forces the team to play by PAR/FAR most games.

If you can go to only 1 game, go to Lindenwood on April 24th at 2pm.  BIG rival for the team in our league (GRLC, not B10), usually resulting in a 1 goal game or OT.

Yea, just a club team, but the players don't really view it that way.  Practice 5 days a week in the spring (3 days/week in the offseason) and travel most weekends.....

Yes, Florida is also a club team, but a very good one (obviously, based on their rankings).

Is the issue funding? I see like Syracuse, Virginia, JHU, on espn every year but that isn't club correct?

I think it comes down to Title IX.  It's the same reason we don't have Men's volleyball, but have Women's.
